Friendly Game Thursday 24th April 20:45

MEETING POINT TONIGHT - 20:45 LARGO PRENESTE

in case you are late....

The entrance to the pitch is just off Via di Portonaccio... i.e. go to Largo Preneste cross the Via Prenestina and walk approximately 150 metres up Via di Portonaccio. Take the first right before the bridge and walk up a small dirt track - if you are on the bike this dirt road is contro senso but everybody just drives up it... you will see the pitch and parking on your right.

hi

thanks to everyone who showed up on Saturday... thanks also to Eugene, Tony and Leo who came along anyway despite being injured!

It's always good to win 3-0 but we musn't get carried away... our Mister said we are getting "slightly" better but this is no time for complacency as our next game will be our toughest test so far!

THIS THURSDAY AT 9 pm we are playing "Valdurz" a battle hardened amateur team who have been playing together for as long as 15 years...

the venue is "Roma 6" which is just off the Prenestina (Largo Preneste) - you enter from via Pietralata.. HOWEVER WE ARE ALL MEETING AT 20:45 AT LARGO PRENESTE AS THE K.OFF ISNT UNTIL 21:00... so see you at Largo Preneste or directly at the pitch.

NB the surface is "terra battuta" or better just dirt... i.e. quite hard and not the ideal surface on which to do slide tackles...

And we'll really shake them up when we....

hi guys

the deposit has been paid and once again a big thanks to Micky Burns the owner of the Finnegans pub for being so generous...

Thanks also to our very own "Mister" Max Capuzi who has agreed to manage us this year, Max's pedigree speaks for itself having played centre half in Serie C1 and then later in the twilight years of his career captaining the Italian National Lawyer's team to world cup glory in the middle east... in between those crowning moments he managed to squeeze in a couple of 8 a side championships with Fins.

Update on present situation:

those 22 players selected for the squad will be give a free "all black" tracksuit to either take home with them or donate to their nearest charity shop...

regarding the strips, our colours will again be green shorts, green tops which will go nicely with our black tracksuits when we take part in the COMPULSORY Flag wielding open day ceremony on Saturday 24 May... by the way we will have a game that day too so make sure you don't have weddings and what not planned!

Friendly Calendar

after our heroic 3-2 victory over Camden Town on 5 April.... we will play them again on Saturday 19th April - ore 12:45 V "Camden Town" - Venue "Le Tre Fontane" via Costantino, 5 (Cristoforo Colombo opposite Fiera di Roma metro stop San Paolo)

Thursday 24th April ore 20:30 V "Valdurz" - Venue "Roma Sei" in via Pietralata - to get there you have to go to go down the Prenestina and take a left when you get to Largo Preneste... Take the first right just before the bridge and go up the little hill and you will see the pitch...

Friday 9th or Saturday 10th May time to be confirmed - "Gianni's Team" - venue to be advised.
