the deposit has been paid and once again a big thanks to Micky Burns the owner of the Finnegans pub for being so generous...
Thanks also to our very own "Mister" Max Capuzi who has agreed to manage us this year, Max's pedigree speaks for itself having played centre half in Serie C1 and then later in the twilight years of his career captaining the Italian National Lawyer's team to world cup glory in the middle east... in between those crowning moments he managed to squeeze in a couple of 8 a side championships with Fins.
Update on present situation:
those 22 players selected for the squad will be give a free "all black" tracksuit to either take home with them or donate to their nearest charity shop...
regarding the strips, our colours will again be green shorts, green tops which will go nicely with our black tracksuits when we take part in the COMPULSORY Flag wielding open day ceremony on Saturday 24 May... by the way we will have a game that day too so make sure you don't have weddings and what not planned!

after our heroic 3-2 victory over Camden Town on 5 April.... we will play them again on Saturday 19th April - ore 12:45 V "Camden Town" - Venue "Le Tre Fontane" via Costantino, 5 (Cristoforo Colombo opposite Fiera di Roma metro stop San Paolo)
Thursday 24th April ore 20:30 V "Valdurz" - Venue "Roma Sei" in via Pietralata - to get there you have to go to go down the Prenestina and take a left when you get to Largo Preneste... Take the first right just before the bridge and go up the little hill and you will see the pitch...
Friday 9th or Saturday 10th May time to be confirmed - "Gianni's Team" - venue to be advised.

Saw an unofficial list of this year's participants. Off the top of my head: Italy, France, Spain, Ukraine, Moldova, Israel, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Cameroon, Brazil, Romania, Cape Verde, Senagal, Croatia, Senza Frontiere, Bangladesh...and some more, there should be 20 this year. We've been challenged to a friendly by Moldova (one of the favourites), so see if you can fit them into our fixture list Dave...
Moldova will be a tough match... we should play them after our next two friendlies on 19th and 24th of April... Thursday May 9th looks like a good date... i will speak to Max and see what he says!
by the way 20 teams means 5 groups of 4 with the 5 first place teams and the 3 best second placed teams qualifying...
a far cry from the inaugural tournament 7 years ago which featured just 8 teams!
